Muscles and Meals 2011

We had so much fun exercising and collecting cans for our food drive to benefit the Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM). *If you forgot to send in your two canned goods, you can still send them in. BEAM will come to pick them up sometime next week. Not only is it good for your heart to exercise, but it also makes you feel good to give back! Thank you to everyone who sent in a donation!

Chinese Jump Rope!

Every year in Summer camp, Mr. Streeter and Ms. McAvoy teach campers how to play Chinese jump rope in P.E. and we have a tournament at the end of the Summer. The Chinese jump roping game dates back to 7th-century China. It is a fun and challenging game that uses a large elastic band. Two children wear the band around their ankles while a third child jumps over and on it. Our campers learn how to play "American", "Chinese" and "Diamond" using the Chinese jump rope. Here are some videos of the kids practicing their jump roping skills!
